Invisalign™
Houston, the Woodlands, Kingwood, Spring, and Conroe, Texas
If the thought of wearing metal braces on your teeth has kept you from seeking needed orthodontia, a solution for you may be found with Invisalign™, rendering braces virtually invisible. Thousands of people have found an answer for crooked teeth with Invisalign, giving them something to smile about.
What Invisalign Is
Invisalign are clear, comfortable plastic aligners that are custom-made for your teeth. You will wear each aligner for two weeks, 24-hours a day. You will change aligners as your teeth change position and your smile improves. Although traditional metal braces are worn for years, most Invisalign patients will only wear their aligners for a year, and often under a year.
Another benefit of wearing Invisalign aligners is that they can be removed any time you want. Removing them to eat, drink, and brush your teeth is perfectly acceptable. Simply put the aligners back on your teeth when you need to. When you remove the aligners, you are able to continue your busy schedule with confidence you may not have had with traditional metal braces on your teeth. Due to the clear plastic, many people may not even know you are wearing Invisalign.
Custom-made Invisalign aligners can correct aesthetic imperfections such as:
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Overbite
- Widely spaced teeth
- Overly crowded teeth
Advantages of Invisalign
Custom-made Invisalign aligners have several advantages over traditional metal braces. They are worn for only about a year, as opposed to two or more years with traditional braces. Although you will be changing aligners every two weeks, you do not need to see Dr. Young when you change them.
You can pick up your new aligners and return to your life quickly with only an official check-up every six weeks or so to see how you are doing with Invisalign. You also don’t need to worry about getting food stuck in your aligners since you can remove them when you eat. This is something you cannot say about traditional metal braces.
Most people who wear Invisalign will not feel any discomfort. Those who have sensitive gums and teeth may feel some temporary discomfort when switching to new aligners.
